What is NMAT?

NMAT, or NMAT by GMAC, is a national-level entrance exam conducted for MBA admissions at NMIMS University and other renowned business schools in India and abroad. Initially conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, the exam is now administered by GMAC.

NMAT is designed with test-takers’ convenience in mind, allowing candidates to select their exam date and venue preferences within the exam window through the scheduling option. Similar to the GMAT, NMAT provides flexibility to self-schedule the test, including the date, time, and venue, depending on seat availability at the chosen test center.

This exam is held annually within a specified testing window and evaluates candidates across three sections:

  1. Language Skills

  2. Quantitative Skills

  3. Logical Reasoning

The NMAT score is determined based on performance in these sections and is widely accepted by leading business schools for admissions.
